As if Newt Gingrich’s campaign wasn’t in enough trouble now at least one penguin at the St. Louis Zoo appears to be counted on as one more feisty opponent of Mr. Gingrich. The Republican presidential candidate is now sporting a small bandage on his finger after getting nipped by a penguin during his tour of the zoo on Friday. Gingrich was in St. Louis to speak during the National Rifle Association’s annual meeting, and The Penguin Post has learned that the minor penguin incident occurred during a visit to the popular zoo in Forest Park. Gingrich was being treated to a behind-the-scenes visit with two Magellanic penguins when when one took exception, as one of the penguins obviously was not a fan and nipped Gingrich on the finger. Zoo spokeswoman Susan Gallagher says a small bandage was all the medical care required. The penguin was reported to be in fine spirits.
