Obviously Penguins Enjoy A White Christmas

December 26, 2011

With not a snowflake in sight here at Penguin Place HQ in usually snowy Northampton, Mass on December 25, it’s good to know that at least someone is pretty much guaranteed to have a White Christmas.  However, if you wanted to enjoy the snow with these Emperor penguins you would have to travel a few thousand miles and end up a very far indeed from “civilization”. But, I couldn’t think of a more beautiful way to spend Christmas.

It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Penguin Christmas

October 28, 2011

As tempting as it is I’m not one to push the envelope of the holiday season any further than it presently is (which seems to be creeping towards Labor Day Weekend). Although it did snow a bit yesterday and there has been a whiff of Christmas in the commercial air, let’s face it folks.  It’s not even Halloween yet.  Still, that doesn’t mean that we need to ignore the before you know it holidays, and in that vein a steady stream of Christmas penguins haven’t been arriving at the Igloo the past few weeks.  Boxed Christmas Cards, Ornaments, Stockings and Holiday Plush have all been arriving along with all our re-orders of penguin standards and classics. But, their time to shine will come soon enough so why push the season?  It’s not like we don’t have 650 other non-holiday penguins in our inventory.  So, prepare yourself folks because ready or not here we come on the day after Halloween. The 2011 holiday season.

Penguin Cards From Africa

June 15, 2011

Recently at the New York Stationary Show I was approached by a greeting card rep who noticed my Penguin themed badge, he then told me he had some great looking, very unique penguin cards that I had to see.  Intrigued, I agreed to give them a glance, but nothing could prepare me for these wonderful penguin cards.   When he told me the cards were made by African orphans (who no doubt never saw a penguin), I quickly knew that these cards were something special that Penguin Place could simply not pass up.  Not only are these cards, unique and great looking, but there’s a fabulous, touching back story behind them.  As they are made by Rwandan orphans as part of a charitable organization to help support them and their siblings. It may be a little early for Christmas, but these hand crafted cards are so wonderful we couldn’t wait to bring them into our inventory asap.

Fun Filled Holiday Card

There’s even an adorable everyday Penguin Friends Card. Our wonderful set of penguin cards was handcrafted for you by young people in Rwanda who have lost their parents. Our offering and your purchase of this creative artwork empowers them to provide education, health, food and shelter for their brothers and sisters. The company behind this card Cards From Africa practices fair trade principles, and this card uses handmade only paper recycled from local office waste.
